Bay Area Music and It's Influence in the Music Industry

Complex recently caught up with some Bay Area music legends. They got first hand feedback on the Hyphy movement from the people who created it. Today, you can hear the influence of many Bay Area songs in the music of popular artist. If you listen very closely to DJ Khaled's new song featuring Drake "For Free", you will hear a few quotes from Bay Area music Legend Too $hort's 2006 hit song "Blow the Whistle". Ten years later in 2016 the Bay Area Song has been kept alive with a new twist to it from DJ Khaled and Drake.

E-40, a Bay Area icon, has been sitting on the sidelines of the Golden State Warriors NBA Finals games, rocking a yellow-and-blue hoodie and chunky chains from his indie label Sick Wid It Records, established in 1989.
